Technology and application
When the light source is switched off, there is a homogeneous, closed component surface. This appears depending on the material used e.g. black or shiny metallic. Only when switched on, the information is visible. This is made possible by an arrangement of laser-generated micro holes with freely definable distribution.
Even in the field of home appliances the technology is already used, because here the ease of use is fundamental. Those operating functions that cannot be used at the moment are also not visible at this moment. They are illuminated only when they can be activated, creating an almost intelligent user interface.
For the defined exit geometries of microholes, the processing with ultrashort pulse lasers by the melt-free ablation process offers the advantage of a post-processing-free precision drilling.
