Laser contract manufacturing
Pulsar Photonics is a competent partner for application development and contract manufacturing with ultrashort pulse lasers. In our job shop, every day we develop new laser processes for our customers on our own laser machines and support them from feasibility to product development and series start-up through to large-scale production.
With the move into our own facility in 2024, we now have 1,100 square meters of production space and 12 laser production systems at our disposal, enabling us to offer a full range of manufacturing options for your needs.

Our own Laser Technology & industrial Systems Expertise
At the Pulsar Photonics Laser Application Center, we develop and operate our very own laser systems, built and developed by us.
This allows us to integrate application development, mechanical engineering, software, and industrial manufacturing into a single environment.
The advantages of in-house systems lie in the development of new software features, automation solutions, or new processing strategies, which can be tested and optimized directly within the ongoing development and production environment.
For our customers, this means:
- Rapid process adaptation
- High flexibility in response to new requirements
- Short development cycles
- Reproducible results in series production
The Laser Application Center serves as a development platform, test environment, and production site for industrial laser processes.

Technology portfolio for development & Series production
Our Laser Application Center covers a wide range of modern laser micro-machining processes—from prototype development to automated series production. In the field of laser technology, we work with various pulse durations, from QCW to femtosecond, as well as with standard wavelengths ranging from infrared to ultraviolet. This enables us to efficiently process a wide variety of materials and perform a diverse range of machining tasks.
In addition to traditional scanner and fixed-optics systems, we offer specialized process technologies such as:
- Laser helical drilling for precise cylindrical holes
- Laser waterjet cutting for brittle, hard materials and thick sections
- Laser micro-welding for delicate components and assemblies,
- as well as automated systems for machining small precision components
This enables us to develop and implement applications in the following areas:
- Laser Drilling
- Laser Fine Cutting
- Laser Structuring
- Surface Functionalization
- Laser Micro-Welding
Our technological diversity enables us to handle complex production chains and multi-step machining processes entirely in-house.
Series production
as a laser service
Many companies want to utilize laser processes without having to invest in equipment, infrastructure, or specialized personnel themselves.
As a laser job shop and development partner, we handle industrial laser manufacturing for our customers—from initial prototypes through the start of series production to ongoing production.
In doing so, we act as an extended workbench for precision laser processing.
Advantages of outsourced laser contract manufacturing
- No need to invest in your own laser systems
- Quick access to proven processes
- Reduced development risks
- Scalable production capacity
- Experienced technical staff
- Existing measurement and testing equipment
- Process database
- ISO 9001 certified processes
- Laser safety and process expertise
- Technical support and a direct point of contact
This allows new products and manufacturing processes to be industrialized more quickly.

Infrastructure for industrial manufacturing processes
Laser processing alone is not sufficient to ensure stable and repeatable series production. The key factors are well-organized processes, transparent workflows, and a reliable production infrastructure. Our Laser Application Center features:
- Streamlined Material Flows
- Incoming Goods & Material Labeling
- Quality Assurance
- Production and Process Documentation
- Reporting
- as well as Shipping & Logistics Processes
For production planning, we use an in-house software solution for capacity and order management. This allows us to efficiently coordinate and flexibly scale both development and production projects.
Close collaboration with our customers also ensures transparent communication during development, the start of series production, and ongoing manufacturing.
Assembly Manufacturing
& complementary process steps
In addition to individual laser processes, we also implement complete manufacturing chains and assembly processing.
By combining various laser processes with complementary infrastructure, even complex components can be manufactured and tested entirely in-house.
The following facilities, among others, are available for this purpose:
- Reflected-light microscopy
- White-light interferometry (WLI)
- Cleaning processes for precision components
- Precision engineering workshop
- 3D printing for fixtures, extraction tests, and process setups
- Compressed air and supply technology
For handling systems or specialized assemblies, we also rely on our in-house engineering department.

From process development
to stable series production
Every industrial mass production process begins with robust process development.
What matters most is not just technical feasibility, but the ability to translate a process into production in a way that is reproducible, scalable, and cost-effective. This is precisely where we combine development work with industrial manufacturing expertise.
New processes are systematically tested, validated, and gradually optimized for stable series production at the Laser Application Center. This results in reproducible manufacturing solutions for demanding precision components and industrial applications.
